<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bright display by the effective contribution of light emitted from a luminous layer and to obtain the display of a high contrast ratio even under a bright environment by reducing the reflection of outside light by a reflecting member on the rear face of the luminous layer. <P>SOLUTION: The device provided with a luminous layer 110 and a light-reflecting member 300 arranged on its rear face is fitted with a polarized light separating means 500 for separating light of a wavelength range corresponding to a blue color into two kinds of polarization ingredients by reflection and transmission, a phase contrast plate 700 and a polarizing plate 600 on the surface side of the luminous layer 110. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
