<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion device capable of precisely detecting NOx in exhaust gas. <P>SOLUTION: The combustion device comprises an NOx detecting element disposed in an exhaust passage of the combustion device 22 and detecting Nox in the exhaust gas, an NOx sensor 26 equipped with a metallic cover covering the NOx detecting element, and an oxygen concentration controlling means 32 controlling the concentration of the oxygen in the exhaust gas by controlling the combustion device. The oxygen concentration controlling means controls the oxygen concentration to make the time when the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas is not more than 0.3% and not less than 0.5% longer than the time when the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas is more than 0.3 % and less than 0.5%, during NOx detection by the NOx sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
