<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small, convenient and inexpensive printer which is directly connected to a digital camera to control the camera, and allows the camera to display information about a picked-up image or a desired image to print it out while confirming it. <P>SOLUTION: The camera 1 is provided with a color LCD (liquid crystal display) 4, and shifts to an image reproduction mode (PL) by switching a mode changeover switch 6 into an image reproduction mode. The camera 1 is directly connected to the printer 15 by a communication cable 14. A menu pattern and cursor data are transmitted from the printer 15 by a MENU key 18f, and are displayed on the LCD 4. In a list print mode, character data are generated from data denoting the number of images transferred from the camera 1 and are transmitted to the camera to be displayed. Further, list printing is performed on the basis of the image data transferred from the camera 1. An optional image is displayed on the camera 1 by pressing keys of the printer 15 such as an EASY key 18e, a "-" key 18a and a "+" key 18b and a desired image is confirmed, the image is combined with a pattern such as a background, a picture postcard, a calendar or mini-label which is selected from the menu pattern, and the composite image is printed out. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
