PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable quantitative measurement as to the extent of the hybridization of sample DNA with probe DNA. SOLUTION: A fluorescent material 2 with which probes 1a, 1b and 1c are labeled is emitted to obtain the quantities of the probes fixed on spots 3a, 3b and 3c of a glass plate 4, and further, a fluorescent material 6 with which samples 5a and 5b are labeled is emitted to obtain the quantities of the samples hybridized with the probes. Measurement is made as to the extent of the hybridization of the samples with respect to the quantities of the probes spotted on a substrate with a value obtained by normalizing the difference with the quantities of the probes.
