PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device for which the thickness of the whole is thinned, miniaturization is performed, the number of components is minimized and costs are lowered. SOLUTION: In the optical device composed of a surface incident type light receiving element and an optical fiber for irradiating the surface incident type light receiving element with optical signals, the optical fiber is a point ball fiber for which oblique grinding is executed to an emitting end, the point ball fiber is parallelly arranged to the light receiving surface of the surface incident type light receiving element and light guided through the optical fiber is reflected at an obliquely ground part and made incident on the surface of the light receiving element.
