PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily manufacturing high-quality foamed glass utilizing a continuous melting furnace. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the foamed glass with the continuous melting furnace comprises: a step of charging into molten glass in a forehearth 1 a foaming agent which is granulated into particles with particle sizes of 3-10mm and a specific gravity of 2.0 or more; and a next step of homogeneously mixing glass material with the foaming agent by stirring them with a stirrer 7 so as to generate bubbles throughout the glass material. Furthermore, it is preferable that the whole surface of the particles of the granulated foaming agent 10 is adhesively coated with hardly soluble glass fine powders 11 so that foaming start time is adjusted to be delayed so as to start foaming around the bottom of the glass material.
