PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost control valve type lead-acid battery while preventing coming-off and oblique mounting of a safety valve. SOLUTION: The built-in type safety valve 11 composed of a nearly cylindricalupper part having a large diameter and a nearly cylindrical lower part having a small diameter with a wedge-like protrusion 12 projecting outward formed on a side face of the upper part is used. The protrusion 12 of the safety valve 11 is fitted and mounted in a recess 5 formed on a lid 5, and its lower part is fitted to a safety valve cylinder part 14 to make this control valve type lead-acid battery. In the upper part of the safety valve 11, exhaust holes vertically penetrating it for discharging a gas are formed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
