PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To page a recipient by a telephone to inform him/her of e-mail contents by a sound or voice when the e-mail is not opened during a predetermined mail open latency time. SOLUTION: A mail server 1 monitors whether the e-mail has been opened during a latency time arbitrarily specified by an e-mail sender, and originates a call to a telephone number of the recipient attached in the e-mail if the e-mail has not been opened during the latency time. The server also converts the e-mail contents into voice data, reads them out and outputs them to a telephone terminal 6 of the recipient. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
