The smoke detector has a detection chamber (2) with side inlets (3) for detecting smoke particles in the inflowing air (6). A downward pointing air guide surface (4) extends beyond all the side walls of the detection chamber below the inflow openings. The air guide surface may be vertical or horizontal, or enclose a predetermined angle w.r.t. the detection chamber. |
