摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily realizable multilayer optical waveguide and a laser beam emitting device capable of efficiently converging respective laser beams emitted from a plurality of light emitting parts of a semiconductor laser array. <P>SOLUTION: In the multilayer optical waveguide 200, planar optical waveguides 20 formed of a member having an optional refractive index and gap members 25a having a refractive index lower than the refractive index of the optical waveguides 20 are alternately stacked. The gap member 25a has a columnar shape and is stacked so as to turn the distance between the adjacent optical waveguides 20 to the diameter (Ra) of the gap member 25a. For instance, when an optical fiber is used for the gap member 25a, the diameter (Ra) can be set highly accurately with an extremely small error. Thus, the interval of the individual optical waveguides 20 in the multilayer optical waveguide 200 can be highly accurately and easily set. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p>
