PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a repair method in which the material cost for repairing a skid button is reduced and in which the durability of the repaired skid button is improved in repairing the skid button of a heating furnace. SOLUTION: In the method for repairing a metallic skid button a plurality of which are arranged in the skid member of a heating furnace, worn skid buttons are detached, and the damaged part of the skid buttons is cut and removed, the oxidized film of the cross section is removed. A jointing member having a lower melting point than the skid buttons is placed on the cross section. Then, the sound part cut out from other worn skid button, with the oxidized film removed from the cross section, is placed on the jointing material to make a compound skid button. This compound skid button is held in the air of 0.1-1.5 Pa or in an Ar atmosphere containing such air for 30 minutes or longer at 1,000 to 1,300°C, and is then arranged in the skid member.
