PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically detect whether a subject exists within an adequate position or range, to photograph an adequate subject image, to synthesize the subject image and another image, and to output the synthesized image. SOLUTION: The image synthesizer is provided with: a sensor for detecting whether the subject to be photographed exists within the visual field range of a camera; and a means for changing the visual field of the camera to a photographic mode of a wide angle or panoramic size so as to confine the same within the visual field range by the detected result of the sensor, when part or the whole of the subject to be photographed exists outside the visual field range of the camera.
