<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus by which a toner image is not soiled by a user's hand when the user makes access inside a machine of the image forming apparatus after the occurrence of a jamming and the time from eliminating of the jamming to restarting of image formation can be shorten . <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of image carriers containing at least both of a photoreceptor and a final body to be transferred, a cleaning member brought into contact with the image carrier, a power source part applying cleaning bias on the cleaning member, a carrying means carrying a recording sheet along a carrying path from a storing tray to an ejecting tray and a jamming detecting means detecting the jamming of the recording sheet in the carrying path are provided in the image forming apparatus.
