PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MICR toner which less contaminates a fixing roller, an image forming method using the MICR toner, and a method and an instrument for measuring the MICR toner, as an MICR toner containing outer additive particles, an image forming method using the MICR toner, and a method and an instrument for measuring the MICR toner. SOLUTION: As for the MICR toner containing outer additive particles, the image forming method using the MICR toner, and the method and instrument for measuring the MICR toner, the fluorescent X-ray intensity of inorganic oxide in a state wherein the MICR toner is transferred onto a recording medium and in a state before fixation is≤0.005 %, when the fluorescent X-ray intensity obtained by measuring inorganic oxide externally added to the MICR toner, only with a fluorescent X-ray analyzing device, is assumed to be 100 %.
