PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly crack even a food apt to be thermally softened by a paddle conveyor, to allow stable and continuous discharge, and to allow easy cleaning of a vacuum hopper, in a drying device for cracking a dry matter by providing the paddle conveyor inside a drum dryer. SOLUTION: The drum dryer 10 has a spherical vacuum hopper 11, and a fixed drum 12 and a slide drum 13 are arranged in the vacuum chamber 11. Respective scraper knives 15 are attached to the fixed drum 12 and the slide drum 13. A paddle conveyor 30 is disposed vertically under the scraper knives 15. The paddle conveyor 30 has a trough 31, and a rotating shaft 32 has many blades 33. A thin plate 34 is fixed to the trough 31 so as to come into each clearance between the blades 33. At the moving side end of the paddle conveyor 30, a disk-like weir plate 35 is disposed on the rotating shaft 32. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
