PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a termiteproof composition preventing construction of termite tunnels over a long period, preferably≥10 years. SOLUTION: The termiteproof composition is composed of a hydroxy group-masked substance of hinokitiol (a metal salt, a metal complex, or the like, of the hinokitiol) and a termiteproof agent (a synthetic pyrethroid chemical, such as biphenthrin). For example, the ratio of the termiteproof agent is 2-40 pts. mass based on 100 pts. mass of the masked substance. The composition is preferably used as a termiteproof coating material by adding a film-forming ingredient thereto. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
