METHOD FOR PROVIDING ADVERTISEMENT BASED ON ROUTE INFORMATION AND POSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a method for transmitting advertisements to a mobile computing platform.

SOLUTION: A geographical database includes data entities expressing geographical features such as roads existing in a graphical area. Advertisement zones are defined in the geographical area. At least several data entities expressing the geographical features are related with data indicating in which advertisement zone the expressed geographical characteristics are located. The advertiser is permitted to relate an advertisement message with the advertisement zone. A geography-related service using the geographical database is provided to the user of the mobile computing platform. When the user of the mobile computing platform moves within the geographical area, the position of the mobile computing platform is obtained.
