PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a sanitary ware, by which the sanitary ware free from glaze defects can be produced by repairing a glaze layer and the disposal treatment of inferior goods can be reduced. SOLUTION: The glaze layer is formed by coating the surface of a body of the sanitary ware with a glaze, and firing. The method for producing the sanitary ware is characterized by forming a glaze layer for repair having the same color as that of the glaze layer by coating a defective part generated in the glaze layer with a glaze for repair or transferring the glaze for repair on the defective part, and firing the glaze for repair at a temperature lower than that at the firing of the glaze layer. Before coating or transferring of the glaze for repair, the defective part of the glaze layer may be cut, or the glaze for repair may be embedded in the cut part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
