<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently decide a stop with a simple constitution and to shorten the time required for controlling to drive a motor. <P>SOLUTION: In a recorder for driving a carriage by using the motor as a power source, when the drive of the motor is controlled based on reaching position information given with respect to a position to reach of an opportunity carriage, a position of the carriage is compared with the reaching position information, if predetermined stop judging conditions are satisfied, it is judged that the carriage is in a stopping state. The stop judging conditions are changed according to any of a capping position, a wiping position, a preliminarily discharging position and any other position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
