PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for correcting a portrait image such as a face image. SOLUTION: The correcting method for the portrait image is provided with: a step for imparting a digital still picture equipped with the portrait image; a step for creating an image model of the portrait image; a step for imparting a plurality of corrected portrait images produced by applying a plurality of corrections defined in advance to the image model; a step for displaying the plurality of corrected portrait images; a step for imparting an instruction means for selecting at least one of the plurality of displayed corrected portrait images; and a step for displaying, transmitting and storing or printing the selected corrected portrait image.
