PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel bearing device of low cost and high durability. SOLUTION: An outer joint member 41 of a constant velocity universal joint 40 is engaged with the inner circumference of a hub wheel 10, and a stem part 45 of the outer joint member 41 on the inner diameter side is plastically deformed in a diameter enlarging direction so as to couple the hub wheel 10 with the outer joint member 41. The outer joint member 41 is formed of steel material comprising C of 0.5-0.7wt%, Si of 0.1-1.5wt%, Mn of 0.6-1.0wt%, and the balance being Fe and unavoidable impurities. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
