The invention concerns a rail vehicle in particular a railway car for transporting single-unit loads such as road vehicles, containers, mobile bodies or the like. The invention is characterised in that the base (4) of its platform (3) is lowered at the limit or off the standardised clearance up to a few centimetres above the ground and the width of said base (4) is not less than the widest authorised traffic lane for a vehicle. The invention is of particular interest for manufacturers and users of transport railway cars, in particular for transporting loads circulating or transported on roads. |
