PURPOSE: A method for displaying emoticons for wireless portable communication terminal positions and states is provided to display a state of other terminal station as an emoticon by using position information of the terminal station obtained through a GPS and access information of a mobile communication system, thereby preventing unnecessary call connections. CONSTITUTION: An MS(Mobile Station)(410) requests a BTS(420) to inquire about terminal state information. The BTS(420) assigns a traffic channel in response to the terminal state information inquire request of the MS(410). The MS(410) requests of state information on a specific MS through the assigned traffic channel. The BTS(420) receiving the terminal state information request delivers the state information of the specific MS through the assigned traffic channel. The MS(410) connects the delivered state information with a telephone number of the corresponding MS, and stores the state information.
