SYSTEM FOR REMOTELY CONTROLLING HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A system for remotely controlling household appliances and a method for operating the same are provided to reduce the load of a home server which performs data format conversion and quickly and accurately transmit data by setting the type of data transmitted between the home server and a central portal server as an XML (Extensible Markup Language) format. CONSTITUTION: A home server(400) controls and manages a home network connected with a plurality of household appliances(A1-A3). A central portal server(300) exchanges data of an XML format with the home server(400) connected through the Internet network. A remote controller(10) connects to the Internet network for remotely controlling a plurality of household appliances(A1-A3), and inputs a control command to the central portal server(300).
