PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diaphragm for an electroacoustic transducer which is light in weight, has high rigidity, has a suitable internal loss and makes a sound quality excellent by using, as a reinforcement of bacteria cellulose, a carbon nanotube which is a carbonaceous material but whose structure is different from those of a high elastic modulus carbon fiber, carbon whisker and carbon graphite. SOLUTION: In the diaphragm for the electroacoustic transducer, the bacteria cellulose composed of ribbon-like microfibril produced by microorganism is molded with a composite material reinforced by the carbon nanotube. In such a case, the carbon nanotube to be the reinforcement is added in 5-90 wt.%. The diaphragm is light in weight, improves rigidity, has the suitable internal loss and obtains the excellent sound quality. Further, the diaphragm whose plastic deformability is excellent in a complicated form is produced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
