<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus of stable and high image quality which removes the cause of an image defect, such as spot soilage which tends to arise on a photoreceptor surface and a copied image by removing paper dust generated in a copying cycle. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with: a cleaning device for removing the residual toner on a photoreceptor; and a paper dust removing device having a fur brush installed upstream of the cleaning device and downstream of a separating pole. The paper dust included in the toner image on the photoreceptor is removed by applying a bias of the polarity reverse to the polarity of the paper dust to this fur brush. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
