PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new epoxy compound having charge transport capability and improved mechanical durability such as wear and scuffing resistances and satisfying even electrophotographic properties and to provide a method for manufacturing the epoxy compound. SOLUTION: The epoxy compound having charge transport capability is obtained by reacting and copolymerizing a mixture of a diol compound having charge transport capability represented by the formula HO-A-OH (where A is allylene having charge transport capability) and a diol compound represented by the formula HO-B1-OH (where B1is an optionally substituted divalent aliphatic group or optionally substituted allylene) with a glycidylating agent.
