PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable tester with light with which a measuring worker can independently, quickly, and accurately carry out work even for a measurement spot in a narrow and dark place. SOLUTION: This portable tester is provided with a tester main body 12 having a primary probe 14 for measurement at its front end section 13 and equipped with a specific function inputting key 17 for operating at least a preset specific function and a secondary probe 22 for measurement drawn out from the tester body 12 through a lead wire 23. On the tester body 12, a light 16 which can be blinked freely based on the input from the specific function inputting key 17 is installed near the primary probe 14 so that the light emitted from the light 16 may reach the contacting end 14a of the probe 14.
