<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a flexible printed circuit (FPC) easy to control production, with high recognition ability in operation, and high reliability in connection. <P>SOLUTION: Brachial beams 62, 68 extending along an upper side wall of a housing 20 and having tips are protruding near to an opening 26 are installed in a plurality of terminals 60A, 60B. A cam part 46 for pressure engagement, installed in a pressing member 40, and having an almost rectangular cross section is engaged with a lower side edge of the brachial beam 62 of an even polarity terminal 60A, and a pin part 47 installed in the pressing member 40 is loosely fit to an upper opening notch part 74 formed in an upper side edge of the brachial beam 68 of an odd polarity terminal 60B. The pin part 47 is moved within the upper opening notch part 74 according to the direction change of the cam part 46 having the almost rectangular cross section engaged with the lower side edge of the brachial beam 62, attendant on the attitude change between an FPC 80 insertable position of the pressing member 40 and a position with which the inserted FPC 80 is engaged. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
