CONNECTOR FOR FLAT CABLE AND FLAT CABLE WITH CONNECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a flat cable avoiding crack failure of a flat conductor at a point connected by a crimp piece even if an external force such as tensile stress or lateral twisting force is applied to the flat cable.

SOLUTION: A terminal housing chamber 14 for housing a connecting terminal 8 is provided in a connector housing 11. A retainer 19 is inserted in the terminal chamber 14. The retainer 19 has a cable presser part 19a for holding and pressing a part of the flat cable 3 connected to the connecting terminal 8 in between the presser part 19a and the connector housing 11, and a stepping part 19b for pressing a holding piece 7 at the end part of the connecting terminal 8.
