<p>A concrete stone texturing machine (1), method to form an irregular rough surface in precast blocks to resemble a real stone face is described. The machine (1) conveys concrete stones (11) having opposed flat surfaces (3, 3') to a pitching station (17) having at least one pair of opposed pitching blade assemblies (18, 18', 19, 19') aligned in a common plane on a respective side of the pitching station (17). The pitching blade assemblies (18, 18', 19, 19') have pitching blades (20, 20') which are displaced towards and away from one another a predetermined distance. A first group (20) of the pitching blades (20, 20') has their cutting edges (26) aligned along a first straight cutting axis (5') which is offset from the cutting edges (26') of the second group of pitching blades (20') aligned along a second straight cutting axis (6'). With the offset cutting edges (26, 26') a unique appearance of the pitched blocks surface is obtained when the pitching (20, 20') blades are forced to penetrate a predetermined distance in an associated one of the surrounding transverse faces (3, 3') of the block (11) adjacent a surface to be pitched.</p> |
