POLARIZING PLATE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate having favorable reliability at high temperature or high humidity in a polarizing plate using a PVA (polyvinyl alchol) polarizer, and to provide a method for manufacturing the plate.

SOLUTION: The polarizing plate comprising at least a polyvinyl alcohol-based polarizer and two protective films holding the polarizer is characterized in that: the protective film comprises (A) a thermoplastic resin having a substituted and/or unsubstituted imide group in the side chain and (B) a thermoplastic resin having a substituted and/or unsubstituted phenyl group and a nitrile group in the side chain; and the water content of the polarizing plate is ≤3 wt.%.
