BIODEGRADABLE BIOPOLYMER MATERIAL, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME AND FUNCTIONAL MATERIAL COMPOSED OF THE POLYMER MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable biopolymer material having excellent biochemical properties, a method for the production of the material and a functional material composed of the polymer material.

SOLUTION: The biopolymer material is composed of a simple silk fibroin or a composite material of a silk fibroin derived from domesticated silkworm or wild silkworm and the 2nd substance selected from cellulose, chitin, chitosan, chitosan derivatives, wool keratin and polyvinyl alcohol. The material is biodecomposable by proteinase, etc. A film of the biodegradable biopolymer material is formed by coating a substrate with a mixture of an aqueous solution of a silk fibroin derived from domesticated silkworm or wild silkworm and an aqueous solution of the 2nd substance and solidifying the applied solution by evaporation to dryness. The mixture of the aqueous solutions is prepared by setting the concentration of each aqueous solution to 0.1-5 wt.% and uniformly mixing the solutions under stirring taking care of not to cause the precipitation and coagulation reaction.
