<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which properly performs use management by attaching a liquid crystal display unit to an operation part. <P>SOLUTION: A composite machine 1 has the liquid crystal unit 21 attached detachably to the operation part 20 and restriction information allowing and disallowing various application functions to be used is stored in a nonvolatile memory 22 of the liquid crystal display unit 21. Once the liquid crystal memory unit 21 is attached, the composite machine 1 controls whether various application functions are allowed or disallowed to be used to perform permitted application operations and stores unnecessary operation information on, for example, how many images are formed in the nonvolatile memory 22. Consequently, users of the hybrid machine 1 are properly limited at low cost to properly and easily perform user management and also improve usability. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
