<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that an image forming apparatus having a plurality of paper feed cassettes suffers such waste that a user who does not know that a form exclusive for color print or mount paper used for a special purpose is set in one of the paper feed cassette uses it by mistake to print a monochromatic image on the form exclusive for color print or gives an unrelated print on the mount paper. <P>SOLUTION: When a specified paper feed cassette is selected, a password input picture is displayed, and when a password is inputted, the selection is allowed. Alternatively, a specified cassette can freely be selected by password input. When no password is inputted, the specified cassette cannot be selected or no display is made to restrict the use of the specified paper feed cassette, thereby solving the said problem. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
