PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the degree of drying by solving such a fault that the degree of drying after completion of drying is likely to be unstable owing to variation in detection caused by the difference in environment if drying is judged to be completed when the ON/OFF duty of a heating means reaches a predetermined value. SOLUTION: A garbage disposer is composed of a main body 1, a heating means 12 heating garbage, an air supplying means 13 supplying air to be heated into a garbage housing container 4, a catalytic deodorization vessel 20 through which malodor generated within the container 4 is made to pass and an exhausting means 22 exhausting a deodorized gas by making the malodor pass through the vessel 20 to the outside of the main body. A temperature sensor 28 is equipped in a circulating route of the air. When the temperature determined by the temperature sensor 28 is above a predetermined temperature T1, the heating means 12 is switched off and when not higher than a predetermined temperature T2, the heating means 12 is switched on. A catalyst temperature sensor 23 is equipped in the catalyst deodorization vessel 20. When the temperature of the vessel 20 is above a predetermined temperature T3, a catalyst heating means is switched off and when not higher than a predetermined temperature T4, a catalyst heating means is switched on.
