PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compactly and accurately accommodate a one-side probe that is extracted from a tester body via a lead wire to the side of the tester body with the lead wire for retaining when the one-side probe is not in use. SOLUTION: In the portable tester 11 comprising the tester body 12 having a one-side probe 28 for measurement and the other-side probe 31 for measurement extracted from the tester body 12 via the lead wire 30, each of one pair of retention pieces 14, 14 that is provided in the longitudinal direction of a one-side surface 13 of the tester body 12 in parallel and has a proper length is formed by a vertical piece section 15 having an appropriate seat height and an overhand 25 projecting outward from an opening end side that freely achieves the winding retention of the lead wire 30 via sides of mutual external surfaces 18, 18 and the pinching of the other-side probe 31 via the sides of mutual internal surfaces 19, 19.
