PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an E-mail receipt/transmission filter system using a directory server and a server program in a mail receipt rejection method requiring man-hours from a user and a management side because each user sets a rejection condition in a terminal or reports it to the mail server management side in every receipt of a mail to be rejected while the management side finds a related server to handle the rejection for each user. SOLUTION: The directory server 1 receiving receipt rejection condition, rejected mail storage/disposal, and storage duration from the user terminal 30 registers them for each user. When the number of registration with the same condition exceeds a threshold value, the condition is determined as a rejection condition common between all the user, and an address is determined and reported to a mail server 2 by referring the rejection conditions for each user and those common between the users to resource information. The mail receiving means 25 stores a received mail in a mail box 21 if it does not fit any rejection condition, while transfers it to a spool server 3 or discards it according to instruction for storage if it fits the rejection condition, and a mail transmitting means 26 stops transmission of the corresponding mail. The rejected mail is put in a rejected mail box 31 allowing reading of the rejected mail and automatically deleted after a storage time. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
