PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and light-weight electric cleaner capable of obtaining an enough running torque of a rotating cleaning body equipped with a suction body with a narrow front-to-rear width of an end part and easy to use. SOLUTION: The cleaner is provided with a rotating cleaning body 104 inside the suction body, a motor 105 for driving the rotating cleaning body and a safety switch 107 for automatically stopping the rotation when the suction body is lifted. The motor 105 and the safety switch 107 are located toward the rear of the rotating cleaning body 104, and arranged almost at the center part in a left and right direction of the suction body.
