The present invention provides a system and method for disguising the depth of tree menus via popup options. In architecture, the system includes a display device (41) that displays a top menu, and an input device (36) to enable a user to select an option. A graphical user interface (60) displays a second level menu on the display device (41) in response to the option selection, and leaves a portion of the top menu visible to the user. The present invention can also be viewed as a method for disguising the depth of tree menus. The method operates by displaying (62) a top menu on a display device (41) and enabling a user to select an option (52). A second level menu is then displayed in response to the option selection (82), wherein the second level menu leaves a portion of the top menu visible to the user. |
