INTEGRATED COPYRIGHT PROTECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated copyright protection system and its method for performing dynamic copyright protection corresponding to the importance of digital contents by using a plurality of DRM tools and providing copyright protection digital contents suited to a user's environment.

SOLUTION: An importance conversion part 31 selects a DRM tool 41 to be used for copyright protection on the basis of the medium format of digital contents. A copyright protection instruction generation part 33 generates a copyright protection instruction on the basis of: the combination of a copyright protection system found from the importance information of the digital contents and from an importance conversion function for the DRM tool 41; and parameters to be used for copyright protection processing based on the copyright protection system. The DRM tool 41 performs the copyright protection of the digital contents in accordance with the received copyright protection instruction and the copyright protected digital contents are stored into a contents database 52-1.
