PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure sufficient inspection precision and inspection quality to visual inspection without depending on high skill, improve workability and inspection efficiency, and contribute to prevention of fatigue in eyes of an inspector. SOLUTION: In inspection of appearance defective of a object item S visually by the inspector H, light L from at least a light source 3 is converted to focused light Lf by a condenser lens 4. This focused light Lf is diagonally radiated to a surface F of the object item S, and reflection light Lfr regularly reflected on the surface F is sent to the eyes He of the inspector H. Otherwise, the focused light Lf is irradiated to the surface of the object item S, and transmitted light Lfs transmitted through the object item S is sent to the eyes He of the inspector H.
