摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for maintaining over a long period the freshness of bamboos cut out so as to enable them to be directly utilized for flower arrangement or as decorative materials with their branches and leaves left intact. SOLUTION: The method comprises the following practice. A bamboo 1 is cut out with their branches and leaves left intact, the insides of the nodes 2 are then hollowed out to form a communicating hole 3. The outer periphery on the lower end of the resultant bamboo 1 is sealed with a plastic bag 4 and the thus sealed bamboo 1 is put into a plastic vessel 6. Water is then injected via the top of the bamboo 1. Since hydraulic pressure corresponding to the height of the water reserved inside the bamboo 1 acts on the cut end at the bottom of the bamboo 1, water elevation inside the bamboo 1 inherently poor in water elevation ability is promoted, thus enabling the freshness of the bamboo 1 to be maintained over a period of as long as several weeks.
