<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a voltage dip caused by peak power consumption which is momentary and of large amount. <P>SOLUTION: A load (104) operates in a default mode and an alternate mode, demonstrates better performance in the default mode than in the alternate mode, and less consumes a peak power in the alternate mode than in the default mode. A power source (102) is connectable to an external power source (110) to supply a voltage at least to the load (104). A mechanism (116) operates the load (104) in the alternate mode if it detects that the voltage supplied by the power source (102) drops below the prescribed threshold level by more than prescribed threshold times. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
