PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed battery in which a lid is mounted on an aperture of a battery can and sealed by laser welding so that liquid leakage or the like does not occur. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the sealed battery in which the lid is mounted on the aperture of the battery can and a laser beam is irradiated on the joining part of the battery can and the joining part is melted, after the lid, in which the end is outwardly extended from the outermost peripheral part of the upper end of the opening of the battery can, is mounted on the aperture of the battery can, the laser beam is irradiated from a diagonally downward direction toward the joining part of the outermost part of the upper end of the opening of the battery can and the lid, and the battery can and the lid are welded and sealed.
