METHOD FOR CALCULATING CONTROL PARAMETER OF ARRAY ANTENNA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple calculation method of a plurality of bias voltage values applied to a plurality of variable reactance elements in an ESPAR antenna. SOLUTION: A radio signal is transmitted from the direction of a specified azimuth using a horn antenna 110 and an ESPAR antenna, i.e. an array antenna 100, measures the power of the received radio signal. A gradient vector for each reactance value of the power of the received radio signal is calculated by perturbing the reactance value of each of variable reactance elements 12-1 to 12-6 sequentially by a specified shift amount. Based on the calculated gradient vector, the reactance value of each of the variable reactance elements 12-1 to 12-6 for directing the main beam of the array antenna 100 to the direction of an azimuth of the radio signal being transmitted is calculated such that the power of the received radio signal is maximized and then it is stored in a reactance value table memory 20.
