PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the performance of a free-piston type stirling engine by realizing a lightweight displacer of less deformation at a low cost. SOLUTION: This free-piston type stirling refrigeration engine 7 has a piston 2 and a displacer 3 which are reciprocal in a cylinder 1 with a work gas sealed therein, and the displacer 3 is reciprocally and elastically supported. The displacer 3 has a hollow part 15a inside, and has a hole 15 to communicate the hollow part 15a with an outer part of the displacer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
