摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal material having a high voltage holding capacity, in which an ion is controlled to move between electrodes when an electric field is applied to the liquid crystal material. SOLUTION: A conduction inhibitor comprising an epoxy type resin or the like is included in the liquid crystal material. Specifically, the inhibitor is formed from a bisphenol F type epoxy resin, and a proportion to be included is made to be 0.1-10 wt.%. By means of such inclusion of the inhibitor, electrical conduction caused by an ion created by an impurity or the like present in the material can be controlled. The high voltage holding capacity can be retained when a liquid crystal display cell and a liquid crystal display are formed by using the material. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
