PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a detection function to terminal fittings certainly exhibited. SOLUTION: In a connector housing 1, a retainer mounting hole 10 is opened from the bottom surface thereof toward both side surfaces. A rib-like locking protrusion 14 is formed on the side surface of the connector housing 1, and a guide groove 42 into which the locking protrusion 14 is fit is formed on the side plate 40 of a retainer 35 so that the moving of the retainer 35 from a temporary locking position to an actual locking position is guided diagonally through the fitting of the guide groove 42 and the locking protrusion 14. It is thus possible that the retainer 35 entering in a diagonal direction to automatically correct the terminal fittings 25 to a normal position even if the terminal fittings 25 is inserted incompletely.
