摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the recording operation at a higher linear speed from 3.5 m/s or higher to about 20 m/s maximum of the recording linear speed in the rewritable phase change recording medium and to provide a recording layer material, a protecting layer material, a medium constitution and the recording method, for making possible the recording operation within the range of these linear speeds, and specially to provide an optical recording medium and an optimum recording method easy to obtain the preservable property and initial crystallization while being recordable at the speed of twice to five-times the DVD linear speed. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for recording a specified recording mark by multi-pulse light emission consisting of heating pulses and cooling pulses respectively at a leading part, intermediate part and last part, while the length of the period of the specified recording mark is nT (n is integer &ge;2, T is reference clock), when the heating pulse period is expressed as OPi and the cooling pulse period is expressed as FPi (i is the number of pulses in the case a set of the heating pulse part and cooling pulse part is defined as the pulse part), the length 1.5 times the reference clock T is standardized for the length OPi+FPi (i=1,-,m) of the above pulse. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
